In the movie The Emperor, Kevin Kline portrays a classics professor at the prestigious all boys school St. Benedictus.  Annually, Kline’s character Mr. Hundert oversees the Julius Cesar festival, a competition to crown the best Cesar scholar of the year.  It is a highlight of the school year and in this particular year one student, Sedgwick Bell a student that has challenged Mr. Hundert all year with disrespect and adolescent antics wins the Julius Cesar competition to Mr. Hunderts Surprise.  It turns out that Bell was in fact cheating and brings great harm to Mr. Hundert, the history of the traditional event, and most poignantly the reputation of St. Benidictus.  In a tense scene where Mr. Hundert confronts Bell, the proud professor looks sternly at Bell and says, “You can’t fix stupid”.

I have lived in Arizona for 23 years now, just two hours from the border with Mexico.  I have witnessed the differing philosophies in border control.  In just sixty days our government has enacted a policy if allowed to continue will damage Arizona and the whole country significantly.  At the root of the issue is “Leftism”.  The philosophy pretends to have the goal of creating a society of perfection.   Leftism uses only one method, destroy opposing views at all costs.  Name one thing Leftism has ever done to better the state or people it influences.  Its sole reason for existence is to ruin and destroy what others have created.  

Once Leftism has achieved its goal of destruction and removal of a way of life, what does it propose to replace it with?  In its utopian pie in the sky theory it will establish a world of peace and goodness where everyone will live in happiness and harmony. Ironically, the only way to achieve the high and lofty goal is to destroy the status quo with confusion, violence, and hatred.  It never delivers on its promise, and yet time after time, year after year Leftism barrels ahead using lie after lie, scheme after scheme to garner the control it desires above all else.  

At the pace this is going, the country will be overrun with refugees believing the lies that America will be their Savior to the detriment of both them and all the people that cherish this country’s history and goodness.  What can we do? Leftism ruins everything wherever it is tried and in the words of Mr. Hundert, “You can’t fix stupid.”
