I acknowledge my redundancy. The crackdown the last week or so once again points to the similarities of the last four years in America with the human life story of Jesus.   If you are a United States Senator and  supported Trump in a public manner there are calls for you to be stripped of your elected position.  If you worked for Trump you will be black listed and may be denied another career.  If you voted for Trump you may face sanctions to force you to change your mind and behavior. There are calls to question the loyalty of servicemen in the military.  There is mass hysteria this week that there will be a colossal uprising starting on Wednesday.   

Hysterics?  Maybe.  It is clear that there is a serious desire to control the masses quickly.  How could you possibly do that? By using the oldest method on the books…Fear and intimidation.  And very soon it will be about food.  

Beginning last February in just weeks the American people gave up some of their freedoms due to the fear of death from a virus we knew nothing about.  We were told millions would die.  We were told it spreads like wildfire.  For the sake of the world and your life you will now follow these demands.  The American people followed dutifully and may I say quickly without even questioning the protocols.  Fear of death, fear of the unknown.  By sheer chance the arbiters of control seized upon the moment to demagogue.  It is what this is about…control.  This was and now continues to be a means to quickly secure control of the masses and the country is willingly obeying.

You cannot enter any retail establishment in the country without a mask.   Businesses, churches, schools, shut down.  You want to fly?  Wear a mask.  You want to worship don’t even think about it.  You want to buy food put on the mask or don’t come in.  The fear of death has been exploited to seize control.   How very quickly freedom can disappear.  The last firewall is the loyalty of the military. Signals have been sent to the military corps that soldiers may not be bound to follow the commander in chief if he or she calls on them to incite harm on others.  Think of the implications of that.  Think of the outright disrespect with cavalier statements.

The question is, how will the control seekers control millions?  In one word…food.  You want to buy food?  In addition to the mask some may need a card with the information required to qualify one to enter a store. You want to buy food online, you will have to secure a code to continue with a transaction.  Sounds hysterical.  Sounds conspiratorial.  Why would people in power desire such stringent control?  What could possibly be so dangerous that masses of people need to be curtailed or disabled?

I may be crazy but look at the last two weeks.  It went from admonishing to impeachment of Donald Trump. Leaders are calling for the  resignation of elected leaders that spoke out on his behalf.  The internet is banning anyone that supported Trump.  Business leaders are calling to black list anyone that worked for Trump.  One congressman has called for commissions to identify ways to eliminate certain media outlets and to reprogram those that have been corrupted by Donald Trump. Re-program?  Where?  This same leader sees no issue with putting people in disagreement in reorientation camps.  That sounds ominously familiar to the 1940s and China today. The end game is the control of anyone that disagrees with leftist ideas.  Impossible? Conspiracy theory? Wacky Trump supporter spreading insanity? 

Will masses of Americans need to fall in line again in a short period of time as obediently done for Covid 19?  Is there technology in place to control the masses?   Will the people in the positions of power and control have the means, desire, and ability to control millions?  With ease…food.

What will we do when we need a card in order to purchase food?  What will we do if we are required to denounce what we believe to be true in order to receive the card?  This is not 1970s Late Great Planet Earth stuff.  This is right in front of us…now.  And it will not take years to accomplish.

Here is a similar story.

     “And having arrested Him they led Him away, and brought Him to the house of the high priest; but Peter was following at a distance.  And after they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.  And a certain servant-girl seeing him as he sat in the firelight, and looking intently at him said, “This man was with Him too”.  But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”  And a little later, another saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man I am not.”  And after about an hour had passed, another man began to insist saying, “certainly this man was also with Him, for he is a Galilean too.”  But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.  And the Lord turned and looked at Peter.  And Peter remembered the word of the Lord how He had told him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times. And he went out and wept bitterly.”

This is NOT about Trump.  Trump has been the speed bump.  This is about the Way, the Truth and the Life. Peter the eventual Rock of the church abandoned his best friend in just a few hours.  Fear and intimidation rendered him a blubbering coward.  This is at our doorstep.  Control of the masses is just a click away.  I am not writing to amp up the fear.  This is not about politics.  This is the reality that Jesus may be closer than anytime since he left.  This is about the method the enemy has used forever.  Intimidation and control to seize and manage power.  I’m scared.  I’m afraid that if and when the moment comes to stand up, I will be the blubbering coward.  I’m afraid for my children and grandchildren so much so that I may submit to the power seeking authorities and deny what I know to be right.  

Bill, you have gone off the deep end.  You may be showing signs of dementia?  Maybe.  Let’s say I am nuts.  Will the explosion of technology be thwarted and the power brokers  move toward using it to better the world and mankind?  Will the enemy decide that we should all step back and learn to love each other, especially the followers of Jesus? If and when given the opportunity to silence and control their enemies, will the control freaks come to their senses and reach out for the common good instead? The idea of this county collapsing has always been an abstract idea out there in space somewhere for all the apocalypse conspiracy quacks.  I’m not so sure anymore.

There is some encouraging news.  Peter became the rock of the church just like Jesus said he would.  Peter went to a cross of his own and died for his friend and Master.  Both are the grace of the same Lord we follow.  Despite his failure, and who of us has not failed Him, Jesus restored his friend and with that restoration the courage to live without fear.  Peter wrote to us:

      “But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed.  And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, but sanctify in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence, and keep a good conscience so that in the thing which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.  For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.  For Christ also died for sins, once and for all, the just and the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.”

I desire that this will all blow over and our Lord spares us from madness and the world I grew up in will return for my children and grandchildren.  At the same time, I am going to prepare my heart and mind for what may be coming.  Either way, heaven awaits.  Peter will be there too.
