I have just not been able to sleep the last few weeks. I am so tired of driving to work in the morning and having to stop at red lights. It makes me late, it makes me very angry and the rest of my day is ruined. I snap at all my colleagues. I even think I am beginning to develop some sort of intestinal issue over this. So today, I am going to follow my feelings and disregard all red lights when I come upon them. I am quite sure that when I arrive early at work, my happiness will rule the day and I will be spurred on to do good deeds for others. Wish me luck!
When truth is redefined, or worse ignored the result may or may not be immediate, but there will be a result. One may get through a red light or two on the way to happiness, but a time will come when an intersection will be filled with destruction or even death. When taking a risk becomes the status quo it should not be a surprise when everything crumbles.
I am old enough now to have observed that truth accepted from the beginning of time by the majority is facing attempted elimination. For now there is confusion. What is accepted by a small minority of controllers is that real truth cannot be known. Truth is as I determine it to be. Any disagreement is unacceptable. I will honor your truth and you honor mine. It’s called being non-judgmental. Sounds considerate, but it’s absurd. As absurd as believing I can run red lights whenever I choose.
The culture’s minority today has a collection of things believed to be true by consensus. For example, marriage is an unnecessary institution that limits individual freedom. Sexual intercourse with whomever and whenever is a true way toward freedom and relational happiness. Man’s existence after billions of years is a product of an astronomical chance mutation of a one cell organism. Every woman has the free choice to end life. Life is a journey that ends with no promise of any life beyond. I am here to pursue and gain happiness for me.
What amazes me is these cultural ideas have only become popular in the last fifty years in this country. What frustrates me is that I believe they are still a minority. I am asked to believe that the brightest people on the planet have lived in the last two hundred years and have determined that millenniums of worldwide commonality have gone by the way and are just now being replaced with, “most of us believe these ideas are right.”
What was once called sin is now called freedom. Abnormal behavior is labeled progressivism and political correctness a code of ethics. With this enlightened understanding has come alarming consequences. Frequent mass shootings. Redefinition of marriage. Explosion of sexual diseases. Suicide at epidemic levels. Mental illness in every community. Elimination of millions of lives. Violence and anger accelerating at warp speed.
How can this be? Certainly with all the new found wisdom we should be the most enlightened peoples in the history of the earth. In response to criticism the call goes out, we must try even harder. We must continue with even more determination to educate and promulgate the idea that man can control, evolve, and determine his destiny. We will run every red light at every intersection until there is perfection.
I am grateful that I am as old as I am and I remember saw dust covering the floors at camp meetings. I remember grandmas and grandpas, and moms and dads that prayed for me every day. I remember songs and words that spoke of joy and happiness despite the pain around me. I remember the common spirit of my fellow travelers that believed freedom is worth living and dying for. I remember the truth that I heard as a little boy and I will never let it go.
Who’s the Judge?
The Judge is God,
Why is He God?
Because He determines who wins and looses not my opponent.
Who is your opponent?
He does not exist.
Why does he not exist?
Because he is merely a dissenting voice of the truth I speak.
So?
Speak the truth!
Which is.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
It hasn’t changed.
